OUR IMPACT STORIES
I lived about 20 kilometers away from our nearest health center. During the rainy season, the roads are muddy and almost impassable, and transport becomes even harder to find. We could not afford a Transportation, so when my time came, my only options were to walk that long distance or give birth at home. It was a frightening situation. But everything changed when PHBC gave me Mother and Newborn Rescue. After making connection with them through the Application, then I was able to reach the facility safely at time and at no cost.

I was married at 15, and my first pregnancy ended in an abortion that I could not avoid. When I became pregnant again at 18, I was scared and not ready to be a mother. Everything felt overwhelming. But the support group in my village from PHBC helped me I found a place where I could share my fears and worries without judgment, and slowly I gained strength and hope.

WHY
Across rural Tanzania, far too many mothers and newborns lose their lives from preventable causes. During the rainy season, impassable roads, long distances to health facilities, and limited financial means make accessing care nearly impossible for many families. These barriers contribute to critical delays in seeking, reaching, and receiving quality care.
By working together, we can remove these obstacles and ensure every mother and newborn has a fair chance to survive and thrive.
